Information we collect
When you join the launch list, enroll, or contact us, we may collect your name, email address, billing contact details, shipping address, order and subscription status, and correspondence with our support address. To personalize the story, we also collect the name you choose for the heroine, your scent preference, your story choices, and any optional note you send with a reply.
Our hosting and security providers may receive routine technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, request logs, and security-cookie data. We do not currently use advertising cookies or third-party behavioral advertising.
How we use information
We use information to send requested launch news, process enrollment, personalize and mail installments, unlock your private archive, record your choices, respond to you, prevent fraud, secure the service, maintain fulfillment records, and comply with legal obligations. Campaign and referring-page information may be stored with a signup or purchase so we can understand which launch efforts are effective. We may also use de-identified information to understand and improve the experience.
Payments and service providers
Payments are processed by Stripe. Tidewater Letters does not store your complete card number. We share only the information reasonably necessary with providers that help us host the website, process payments, print and mail orders, deliver service messages, or protect the business and its customers.
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for third-party targeted advertising.
Your private archive and replies
Your archive is protected by a private access link. Keep that link confidential. Story choices and optional written replies are stored with your enrollment so later installments can follow your path. A mailed edition may be preserved as a fixed reading copy so later profile changes do not rewrite the story you received.
Retention and security
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to fulfill the season, maintain the archive, provide support, resolve disputes, satisfy accounting and legal obligations, and protect the service. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no online system can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information by writing to letters@tidewaterletters.com. Some records may need to be retained for fulfillment, security, accounting, or legal reasons. We will honor additional rights provided by applicable law.
Children and changes
Tidewater Letters is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We may update this policy as the service changes. A revised effective date will appear on this page, and material changes will be communicated when required.
